Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Converting, editing, previewing, and compressing are free. You don’t need an account to use the tools. Sign in only if you want to save files to your account.

What can I turn into a Lottie?

Use the converter for a sequence of PNG, JPG, WebP, or SVG images. To animate a single static SVG, use the editor and add motion to its layers. You can also import existing JSON and .lottie animations.

How do I convert PNG images to Lottie?

Open the image converter, upload your PNG frames, arrange their order, and set the frame rate and canvas size. Preview the sequence, then download Lottie JSON. A single image stays still unless you add motion; conversion keeps the image data and does not trace it into vectors.

Can I convert an animated SVG to Lottie?

Yes, for supported SVG animations. The SVG to Lottie guide includes a working example and explains which shapes and SMIL animations carry over. CSS and JavaScript animations are not translated. For a static SVG, use the animation editor to add motion to the artwork.

How can I make an image sequence smaller?

Use the bulk image compressor to resize your frames and choose an output format before conversion. Smaller source images can reduce the size of image-based Lottie files. Preview the result at its intended display size to check the detail.

Do my files stay on my device?

Image sequences, editing, previewing, and compression run in your browser. A single animated SVG is sent to the server for conversion. Saving a file to your account uploads that exported file.

Will my animation work everywhere?

Export Lottie JSON for use with a compatible player on your website or in your app. Player support varies, so test it where you plan to use it. Image sequences keep their original image data; they don’t become vectors.
